Lokra Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 21 Sector and Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) organised friendly football matches between Director General Assam rifles (women) football team,
Sonabil Tea estate football (women) club and Kendriya Vidyalaya School Lokra football (boys) team. A total of 2 matches were played.
(a) Match 1 : DGAR (women) football team Vs Kendriya Vidyalaya school Lokra football (boys) team.
(b) Match 2 : DGAR (women) football team Vs Sonabil Tea Estate football (women) club. Both the matches were won by DGAR (women) football team.
The greater aim of the friendly matches was to promote women empowerment and motivate the women fraternity to take up football as a career.
A two day matches were enthusiastically witnessed by the locals of Lokra and the Lokra Battalion. At the end of the tournament morale boosting felicitation of the participants was carried out.
