Dalmia Bharat Foundation Launches DIKSHa Skill Training Centre in Lanka to Upskill over 1000 Assamese Youth


Guwahati, 28 December 2021: Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of Dalmia Bharat Group has launched its new DIKSHa (Dalmia Institute of Knowledge and Skill Harnessing) centrein Lanka, Assam where Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited also has its cement manufacturing facility. The centre aims at providing placement-linked, short-term skill-training to the youth of neighbouring communities and ensuring better and sustainable livelihoods. To begin with, accredited trainers at the new centre will impart skills training in Retail Sales Associate (RSA), CRM domestic Voice and Helper Electrician trades.


Providing easy accessibility to neighbourhood districts such as Karbi Anglong, Nagaon and Dimahasao District, the non-residential skilling facility is focused on making local youth employable and will instruct over 1000 trainees annually.
The Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF) currently boasts 12 skill development centre across India as a training capacity of 5000.

The organisation is working closely with the District employment exchange office, Local Bankers and Assam State Rural Livelihood mission BMMU to help trained youth get employed and become self-dependent.

The centre which is in Udali Development Block, under Hojai District, offers hybrid modern classroom facilities and a practical lab for RSA and CRM domestic Voice. The establishment of a classroom and lab for Helper Electrician is also in the works, in association with Schneider Electric.
