Assam Rifles distributed sports equipment to the youth of Gotaikhal, Kadamtala, New Kaiphundai and Nungba villages, while water tanks were provided to Mongbung and Champanagar villages as part of Operation Sadbhavana, which focuses on fostering community development, national integration and promoting goodwill and welfare in remote regions of Northeast.
The distribution of sports equipments will go a long way to wean away the youth from anti national activities. It will encourage them towards sports and games and pursue it professionally, which was being hampered due to paucity of quality sports equipment.
The water tanks distributed to villages will address water scarcity issues ensuring residents have access to clean potable water for drinking and other purposes.
