Twopan has launched the Nano SSD, a tiny flash drive that features fingerprint encryption and USB-C connectivity. The company claims it is the world’s smallest fingerprint-secured SSD, designed to meet the needs of smartphone users, mobile creators, and professionals who want secure and portable storage.
Twopan Nano SSD Specifications
The Nano SSD measures 20×13×5mm and weighs just 5 grams. It comes with 512GB of storage and supports USB 3.1 Gen1 with read and write speeds of up to 450MB/s. It connects via USB-C and works with a wide range of devices, including iPhone 16, Android phones, iPads, MacBooks, Windows laptops, Steam Deck, PS5, and more.
The device includes built-in fingerprint recognition and can store up to 20 fingerprints. It allows users to unlock the drive with a single touch, without requiring any apps or software installation. Twopan highlights that this plug-and-play functionality offers a convenient solution for users seeking fast and secure access to their files.
The Nano SSD is built using an aluminum-plastic composite and carries an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance. Twopan says it can survive drops from up to 10 meters. The device is small enough to stay attached to a keychain and is compatible with phone cases up to 3mm thick.
It also supports direct 4K video recording on devices like the iPhone 16 Pro, allowing creators to bypass internal storage limits and work directly off the drive.
Pricing and Availability
Twopan is crowdfunding its Nano SSD on Indiegogo, offering the standard version at $78 during the campaign, down from its regular price of $119.99. It also comes in a Leather Case version priced at $129.99. Shipments are scheduled to begin by the end of June 2025.
