In a thrilling final showdown at the Assam Cricket Association Stadium in Guwahati on Tuesday, the Kaziranga Heroes emerged victorious, defeating the Subansiri Champs by a margin of 4 wickets in the ACA T-20 Challengers Trophy 2024.
Winning the toss, Subansiri Champs opted to bat first, putting the Kaziranga Heroes into the field.
The Subansiri Champs managed to set a challenging target of 135/8 in 20 overs in their allotted 20 overs. Saurav Mousum Dihingia played a pivotal role with his 41 runs off 42 balls, closely followed by Anurag Talukdar who contributed 37 runs off 25 balls. Senglong Rongpi 23 runs off 18 balls and Abhilash Gogoi 17 runs off 14 balls towards the end of the innings pushed their score further.
The Kaziranga Heroes bowlers, led by Abir Chakraborty with figures 2/18, and Arun Sonar 2/21 did their best to contain the opposition.
In reply, the Kaziranga Heroes responded with a strong performance with a score of 136/6 in 19.4 overs, led by Nihar Narah’s impressive runs 46 off 30 balls and SK Jnyanam’s 35 off 32 balls led the team to victory
