Assam Rifles launched an operation based on specific intelligence and recovered huge quantity of explosives in Jiribam District, Manipur in a joint operation with Manipur Police.
This massive recovery comes in the same week as the Red Fort Blast. Assam Rifles has stepped up its surveillance and vigilance post the catastrophic incident. As part of the recovery during the search IEDs weighing a total of 7Kgs and 10 Gelatin Sticks along with cortex, detonators, electric wires and power source were recovered during the operation. The explosive recovered is generally used in making IEDs to cause damage to security forces.
Assam Rifles has been working closely with local authorities to maintain peace in Jiribam District, reiterating that no one will be spared, miscreants already identified and on the radar will be taken to task. The locals were seen praising the efforts of the force in maintaining peace in the region.
