ASSAM RIFLES RECOVERS ARMS AND AMMUNITION BETWEEN CHAUDHARYKHAL AND SAVOMPHAI VILLAGES ON THE FRINGES OF JIRIBAM AND PHERZARWAL DISTRICTS, MANIPUR IN A JOINT OPERATION

■ Assam Rifles launched an extensive search operation between Chaudharykhal & Savomphai Villages alongwith Manipur Police and CRPF on the fringes of Jiribam and Pherzarwal Districts, Manipur. This operation comes amidst the coordinated crackdown of Assam Rifles on any miscreants hampering peace and stability in the region, with many recent operations resulting in multiple apprehensions and arms recoveries in the area.

Assam Rifles has been relentlessly working on recovering arms, ammunition and explosives that are still in possession of any individuals, including ones that had been looted during the unrest. As part of the recovery during the search one 7.62mm AK47, one 5.56mm INSAS LMG, one .303 Rifle, one Single Barrel Rifle, one 9mm Pistol, two No 36 Gren, nine 5.56mm live rounds, twenty 7.62mm live rounds, seven 9mm live rounds, four radio sets, two INSAS magazines, one AK47 magazine, one .303 magazine, one 9mm Pistol magazine were recovered during the operation.

Assam Rifles has been working closely with local authorities to maintain peace in the region, reiterating that no one will be spared, miscreants already identified and on the radar will be taken to task. The locals were seen praising the efforts of the force in maintaining peace in the region.
