Music launch of award-winning Assamese film ‘Jiya’
Asom khobor Guwahati, March 28, 2024: Eagerly anticipated music launch of the Assamese feature film ‘Jiya’ illuminated the halls of the Gauhati Press Club in Guwahati on March 28, heralding a new era of musical excellence.
Directed by Kenny Basumatary and produced by Sarmistha Chakravorty, ‘Jiya’ has already garnered significant acclaim, securing four prestigious awards, including the coveted Best Film honor at the recently held Prag Cine Awards. The film’s music has already won the Best Singer Male (Angarag Papon Mahanta) and Best Background Score (Ambar Das) awards.
Music Producer Ambar Das weaved his magic into the film’s music, infusing it with soul-stirring melodies that captivate the audience’s hearts. The music launch showcased Ambar Das’s remarkable talent, setting the stage for an unforgettable cinematic journey.
The soundtrack of ‘Jiya’ boasts a rich blend of emotions and melodies, offering a glimpse into the soul of the film. Among the standout tracks are “Xopun Xopun Loga,” featuring the mesmerizing vocals of Angarag Papon Mahanta and Sarmistha Chakravorty, and “Ei xadhu,” a composition sung by Shankuraj Konwar and Sarmistha Chakravorty.
Other notable tracks include “Nuphuta Junak,” a soulful rendition by Maitrayee Patar, and “Kothabur Jodi Hool Hoy,” a poignant composition voiced by Eepsita Hazarika and Sarmistha Chakravorty. The soundtrack is further elevated by the ethereal track “Udong Bukut,” featuring the enchanting vocals of Sarmistha Chakravorty.
Lyrics and composition of “Xopun Xopun Loga” is by Sarmistha Chakravorty. Other credits include Bhaskarjyoti Kalita on flute and Hridoy Baba on tabla. Lyrics of “Ei Xadhu” is by Raj Dweep while Navanita Sharma and Ambar Das provided backing vocals. In “Nuphuta Junak”, flute is by Bhaskarjyoti Kalita while the lyrics is written by Maitrayee Patar. Lyrics of “Kothabur Jodi Hool Hoy” is by Chandana Pathak while that of “Udong Bukut” is by Thengal Jyoti Swapna and was composed by Anshuman Barua.
The soulful songs are now available across all leading streaming networks, including YouTube and Spotify.
