Lokra Battalion provided drinking water and medicines in the inundated areas of Silchar

Lokra Battalion under the aegis of HQ Sect 21 and Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) provided drinking water and medicines in the inundated areas of Silchar, Cachar District, on 29 June 2022.

 

The worsened Flood situation in Cachar District has led to the areas of Rangirghat and Dakshin Mohanpur village, inaccessible by roads. Assam Rifles assisted with tps from Army Engr units distributed essential drinking water bottles, as their water sources became contaminated due to floods. Two relief teams of Lokra Battalion distributed a total of 1534 ltr of drinking water and medicines. Details of the drinking water distributed are as follows, Rangirghat vill – 694 ltr, Dakshin Mohanpur vill – 840 ltr The relief material was distributed to approximately 100 families of Rangirghat and Dakshin Mohanpur village each.
