TAWANAG (Arunachal Pradesh), October 24: India has passed 63 of haunting memories of sudden dreaded attack by the Chines’ Dragon Force crossing through the Bumla Pass of Indo-China International border at 15200 feet above the sea level on October 23 of 1962 which is historically recorded as “Chines Agression-1962”.  During that time the communication status in that high altitude area was too poor. However, amidst that tough challenges and low key arms and ammunition a brave hero Jaswant Singh Rawat from the 4th Battalion of Garhwal Rifles Regiment stationed at Nuaranang in Arunachal Pradesh with only 16 Jawans from his unit played a crucial role in defending Indian Territory against the massive Chines attack. After hour long war at this high altitude point occurred at around 5 Am JCO, Rawot alongwith his fellow Jawans lost their live in the hands of the aggressive Chines dragon Army which are presently known as Peoples’ liberation Army (PLA).  It was followed two times dreaded attack upon the second security post at Bumla itself wherein Subeder Jogindar Singh from First Sikh Regiment with 22 Jawan from his battalion fought with bravery against the Chines attackers to defend the Indian Territory and succeeded to push back the chines forces resulting into sever loss of Chines forces.  However, Singh was surrounded and captured by the Chines Army, taken as prison of war (POW), three of the four survivors who escaped went on to narrate Joginder’s tale of raw courage and defiance which is how his exploits came to be known. This brave heart passed away in Chines captivity on the same date itself. He was given Param veer chakra for his bravery and tactics against a much larger enemy force. However, when the Chines learnt that Joginer Singh was given the Param Veer Chakra, they repatriated his ashes with full military honour on May 17, 1963.
