● 5 FEB 2026: Assam Rifles recovered a huge consignment of Heroin worth ₹14 Crores, in a joint operation with Cachar Police. The consignment was intercepted while being transported via Lakhipur, Assam on the night of 05 February 2026.
Assam Rifles launched the operation based on intelligence of trafficking of drugs in the region. During the operation one individual hailing from Babupara, Jiribam was apprehended along with 154 soap cases of heroin and further investigation is underway.
Assam Rifles has been at the forefront of anti-drug operations in the region, conducting regular operations to disrupt and dismantle narcotics networks. This seizure is a significant milestone in the effort to combat drug trafficking.

असम राइफल्स ने कछार पुलिस के साथ संयुक्त अभियान में 14 करोड़ रुपये मूल्य की हेरोइन की एक बड़ी खेप बरामद की। यह खेप 5 फरवरी 2026 की रात को असम के लखीपुर से ले जाई जा रही थी, तभी इसे जब्त कर लिया गया।
अभियान के दौरान, जिरीबाम के बाबूपारा निवासी एक व्यक्ति को हेरोइन की 154 पुड़ियाओं के साथ गिरफ्तार किया गया और आगे की जांच जारी है।
