Guwahati, January 22, 2025: India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), a premier trade promotion enterprise under the Government of India, is organizing the 14th East Himalayan Trade Fair (EHTF) and 1st East Himalayan Agri Expo 2025 from January 23-29, at Assam Engineering Institute playground in Chandmari, Guwahati.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Officer on Special Duty (OSD-Admin), ITPO, Lt. Col. Harsh Kondilya mentioned that the week-long event in Guwahati will enable citizens to procure items directly from the sellers while also providing the sellers a platform to showcase their products. “The event will provide a chance to the participants to showcase and sell their products, and develop networks with local customers as well as neighbouring countries. The fair predominantly features MSME units, self-help groups, women entrepreneurs, and startups, who share the stories behind their products, carry the traditions of their territories, and embrace new technologies. The theme of the event is ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’,” Lt. Col. Kondilya said.
The event, organized in association with Assam government’s Department of Industries and Commerce, will showcase various consumer goods like electrical appliances, electronic goods, kitchenware, food & confectionery items, health, cosmetics & beauty products, textiles & garments, leather goods, handicrafts, furniture & furnishing items, carpets, jute products, books, stationery items, corporate gifts, products of self-help groups etc.
It will also have dedicated products from the agriculture & horticulture sector, including processed and frozen food, organic products, spices, dairy products, tea, coffee, aqua & marine products, agricultural equipment and other agriculture related sectors etc.
Besides these, capital and service sector goods like various engineering goods, items for hospitals & nursing homes, laboratories and diagnostics centers, insurance & bank, tourism sectors, NGOs, IT and computer sector will also be showcased at the grand event.
