In a major breakthrough Assam Rifles, in coordination with Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), carried out a joint operation, resulting in recovery of heroine worth ₹22.73 crore from general area Kabuganj, Cachar district, Assam.
Acting on credible intelligence the operation commenced in the early hours of 10 June 25 which involved a high speed chase of a Tata Yodha vehicle which was carrying 280 soap cases of heroin weighing 3.24 Kgs.
This operation in Cachar district, Assam, comes at a time when Manipur remains on high alert due to sustained unrest and violent disruptions caused by extremist factions.
