SRIMANTA DAS TAWANG, October 24: The Organisers of Tawang International Marathon 3.0 proudly extend their heartfelt congratulations to all participants and a true celebration of Endurance, Unity, and the Indomitable spirit of runners from across India and beyond, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Tawang.
This year’s Marathon brought together over 4,000 runners, Including international Participants, to the Serene yet Challenging Valleys of Tawang at an altitude of 10,000 feet. The event was graced by the GOC Gajraj Corps, other senior officers from Gajraj Corps — including GOC of the Ball of Fire Division, Blazing Sword Division, and Red Horn Division, Honourable MLA of Tawang , the Chairperson of Zila Parishad, District Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, and other distinguished guests and dignitaries.

A Celebration of Spirit and Strength
GOC Gajraj Corps complimented all the winners and participants for successfully completing this challenging high-altitude marathon, commending their determination, courage, and sportsmanship. Addressing the runners as “Champions, Finishers, and Warriors,” he saluted their achievements — from the youngest, just nine years old, to the eldest, 76 years young — reminding everyone that there is truly no age limit to success.
Held in the sacred and historic land of Tawang, Tawang International Marathon 3.0 stood as a remarkable testament to strength, resilience, and unity. The marathon’s festive atmosphere reflected the enthusiasm of participants from 27 Indian states and abroad. With over 1,200 women and young girls participating, the event also shone as a beacon for women’s empowerment and health awareness.
Among the inspiring participants were 1971 war veteran Colonel O.P.N. Kalyan (Retd), aged 76; 24-year-old anti-drug activist Chawang Ringin; youth inspirational icon Nidhi Pasi, aged 15, from Guwahati; and Mr. Vinod Patgiri, known for completing the 2024 km-long endurance run.
The Honourable Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Mr. Pema Khandu, though away on an official visit to Japan, sent his best wishes and continues to be the driving force behind the marathon’s growing global recognition, now accredited by the Association of International Marathons & Distance Races (AIMS).
The organisers extend sincere gratitude to all participants, sponsors, volunteers, security personnel, and supporters who contributed to the grand success of this international sporting event. Preparations are already underway for an even more exciting Tawang International Marathon 4.0 next year.
