The Assam Swimming Association, continuing its annual tradition, successfully organized the ‘Technical Official Clinic’ for the year 2024. Trained, experienced, and certified technical officials are crucial for the smooth conduct of aquatic sports at state, national, and international levels.
General Secretary Bhaskar Ranjan Das and Publicity Secretary Mukuteshwar Goswami informed that this year’s clinic was held as a two-day event on December 28 and 29 at the Assam Olympic Association Auditorium in Guwahati. A total of 68 participants from various parts of the state attended the clinic.
During the two-day clinic, participants received guidance from Kamlesh Nanavati, Senior Vice President of the Swimming Federation of India and an international referee; Sanket Sindhe, another international aquatic sports referee; and Dronacharya Awardee Tapan Panigrahi. These experts joined the event virtually and explained effective strategies to achieve success at national and international levels.
Senior coaches and referees from Assam, including Ravindra Modak, Babul Gurung, and Farid Ali, elaborated on the rules, regulations, and intricacies of aquatic sports. General Secretary Bhaskar Ranjan Das emphasized that the association aims to nurture international-level swimmers and referees from Assam.
