Relief materials sent to Silchar in collaboration with Max Cement and Rajasthan Lime Udyog
Asom khobor Guwahati, July 1, 2022: Young Indians (Yi) Guwahati Chapter, the youth wing of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on June 30 carried out a flood relief and rehabilitation program in collaboration with Max Cement and Rajasthan Lime Udyog which was flagged off by Mr. Raunak Goyal, National Chair,
Yi.
The relief materials which consisted of food items were sent out to Silchar which is one of the most affected areas in Assam. Mr. Raunak Goyal who flagged off the program said, “Yi across India has always come forward to help its fellow citizens in times of need. Assam has witnessed a devastating scenario this year and our heart goes out to all. We hope this little gesture will help several families to sustain themselves in these trying times.”
Apart from this, Yi Guwahati Chapter also provided rehabilitation and relief materials to Nagaon benefitting around 3800 families. Mr. Pankaj Kankaria, Co-Chair, Entrepreneurship vertical, Yi Guwahati Chapter handed over the relief materials to the Nagaon District Administration.
Speaking about the initiatives, Mr. Amrit Deorah, Chair, Yi, Guwahati Chapter said, “Assam is facing one of the worst floods this time which has affected a lot of families, therefore, as responsible citizens it is our duty to help others in need. We are glad that many individuals and organisations are extending as much help as possible and hopefully it is reaching out to all in need.”
The flood relief initiative to Silchar benefitting around 1000 families is being headed by Mr. Prakash Agarwal, Co-Chair, Health Vertical, Yi, Guwahati Chapter. The flag-off was attended by Advocate Pallavi Barua- North East Regional Chair, Yi; Mr. Amrit Deorah, Chair, Yi, Guwahati Chapter; Dr. Bidita Das, Co-Chair, Yi, Guwahati Chapter and other members of Yi.
