TAWANG HOSTS THE SWARNIM VIJAY MASHAAL

Asom khobor Tawang, (AP), Sept 21 :
The Swarnim Vijay Mashaal, was hosted by Tawang City on Tuesday . In the early morning a day long program the Vijay Mashaal was taken for a circuit of the city to include Buddha Statue, Asia’s largest Tawang Monastery and Manjushree Vidyapeeth.

At Tawang Monastery, the Vijay Mashaal was blessed by Rinpoche and Monks. Travelling through the city, the Vijay Mashaal was taken to Manjushree Vidyapeeth, where students displayed their creativity through paintings which were displayed for all visitors moving alongwith the Vijay Mashaal.

Later in the day, a number of commemorative events were organised at the Tawang Stadium which were attended with great enthusiasm by a large number of people from Tawang City and adjoining areas. With Chief Minister of the State, Pema Khandu in attendance, a number of cultural programs were presented by Students, Local Cultural Groups and the Army. Ex-servicemen, Veterans and the Veer Naris were also felicitated for their contribution towards the safety and security of the nation.

 

Speaking on the occasion, General Officer Commanding of 5 Mountain Division of the Indian Army and the Chief Minister paid homage to the Martyrs of the Armed Forces and brought out the significance of the ‘Swarnim Vijay Varsh’ of the 1971 Indo-Pak War. The youth of the state were also motivated during the address to contribute towards development and growth of the Nation.
