In a decisive strike against illegal networks, Assam Rifles, in coordination with Cachar Police and the Field Intelligence Team, busted a narco-arms module in general area Bhaskhandi, Silchar, based on precise intelligence inputs.

The swift operation led to the recovery of a factory-made pistol with four rounds of ammunition and narcotics concealed in soap cases weighing approximately 377.4 grams. Of these, six soap cases (108 grams) tested positive, with an estimated market value of ₹64 lakh. A scooty used for transportation was also seized.

One individual, identified as Mafijul Islam of Cachar, Assam, was apprehended during the operation. The recovered items along with the apprehended individual have been handed over to Cachar Police for further investigation.
