● Assam Rifles conducted Pre Republic day celebration on 25 January 2024 with utmost vigour and enthusiasm with village locals from all age groups participating with absolute zest and zeal. The grandiose occasion was celebrated at remote villages of Jiribam, Tamenglong and Noney districts of Manipur, as also in Silchar, Assam.
The events included a Painting Competition at Kaimai, Elocution competition at New Kaiphundai, in Tamenglong District of Manipur, on the Theme “India – Unity in Diversity” and “My Country My Pride”. As also, a flag hoisting ceremony followed by a Mega Flag Rally was organised at Boro Bekra and Phaitol, in Jiribam District of Manipur. An event of “A day with Company Commander” was organised at Nungba, where a large number of children and women participated dressed in traditional attire. Similarly an event was also organised at St Paul School, Srikona, to celebrate Republic Day with children, teachers and staff of the school.
The events highlighted the rich bond between the locals and Assam Rifles.
