CII’s Young Indians (Yi) is all set to embrace Responsible Youth Leaders at the 20th National Summit Take Pride 2023

~The summit will shed light on significant initiatives such as the Yi National Road Safety Summit, Yi
Masoom Summit, Yi The Future Conclave, and Yi National Climate Change Summit~
Chennai, 30 th November 2023: Young Indians (Yi), the youth wing of the Confederation of Indian
Industry (CII), proudly unveils the theme of its much-anticipated 20th National Summit, "Take Pride
2023," scheduled for December 21-22, 2023. The two-day conference will be hosted at the esteemed
ITC Grand Chola in Chennai, marking the pinnacle of a year-long dedication to empowering young
leaders and fostering a transformative dialogue for the nation's progress.
The theme for this year’s Take Pride, “I am”, symbolizes the collective identity of Young Indians. It
embodies inclusivity, celebrating the diverse qualities, aspirations, and strengths that converge within Yi,
fostering an environment of unity amid diversity. The 20th edition of the summit will focus on Youth
Leadership, Nation Building, and Thought Leadership—pillars that define Yi’s commitment to shaping
India's future.


The summit boasts an illustrious lineup of keynote speakers, including esteemed personalities like Dr.
Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, and Dr. TRB Rajaa, Hon’ble Ministers of Tamil Nadu, Mr. Amitabh Kant, G20
Sherpa, and industry stalwarts such as Mr. Sridhar Vembu, Mr. Mithun Sacheti, and Ms. Vita Dani,
among others. The diverse panel of speakers brings forth invaluable insights and experiences across
various sectors, enriching the discourse on nation-building and youth empowerment.

Yi introduced seven new chapters this year, expanding its reach to more cities across the country. The
year 2023 saw 50 Y20 sessions and 6 Mera Yuva Bharat workshops organized in collaboration with the
Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. Additionally, the Young Indians witnessed the
launch of the Yi Masoom Cup League in association with the esteemed Chennai Super Kings, advocating
for child safety.
Yi remains committed to child safety through its Project Masoom, working relentlessly towards creating
awareness and eliminating child sexual abuse. The Yi Masoom Cup 2023, in collaboration with Chennai
Super Kings, aims to amplify this vital cause.

The grand finale match, scheduled for 20 th December ‘23, will witness the pinnacle of regional
champions coming together for a noble cause. Additionally, an exhibition league match between the Yi
National Team and CSK will further amplify the message of safeguarding children.
Yi forged partnerships with various entities such as Schwing Stetter India for Road Safety, EMRI for
Farishtey, and Chennai Super Kings for the Yi Masoom Cup, demonstrating its commitment to significant
social causes and initiatives.

Achievements of the year

Young Indians (Yi) has made remarkable achievements during the year 2023 yielding significant
milestones. The unwavering dedication and innovative ideas brought forth by our leaders & members
have not only strengthened our network but has also propelled our creation of positive change within
communities.
We set forth with a crystal clear vision – HUM, the resounding HUM of Excellence, Collaboration and
Significance, Yi has created bold strikes upward and forward. Yi now has a whooping increase of 24.18%,
reaching the heights growth in the past decade, with a total of 6,223 members. With 8 new chapters
and 2 in the pipeline, we have taken the total chapters to 66, from 58.
Year 2023 has been a year of the fantastic threes for Yi – three pillars have formed the base for the
super structure that has emerged. We embarked on a journey to Build Youth Leadership, Developing
Responsible youth for the future and be the voice of the Young India, through Excellence in creating
awareness, Collaboration reflected in action and Significance by rendering Advocacy.
The Projects and the Initiatives have impacted the most fundamental elements of our society. The
engagements driven through our stakeholders MYTRI, have brought in mind blowing results. These have
created responsible youth, ready to take on Leadership positions in the future.
Yi’s partnership with Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Ministry of Women and Child Development of
India, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and Civil Aviation. Not just the collaborations with the
respective Ministries, but also worked independently with individuals with power and good intentions.
Partnerships with corporates like and SCHWING Stetter EMRI Green Health Services have helped Yi
maximise the reach of the Projects and the Initiatives – marking Yi as THE organisation of Significance!
Yi organised the G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance India Summit 2023. The summit was addressed by
many leading speakers from India and overseas. The summit was attended by 600+ delegates from 29
countries which is the largest gathering of business in a YEA event in history.
For the first time in the history of Yi, SPORT was route taken to create an ‘emotional connect’ to deliver
impact at the Grassroots. To make sure this cause of Masoom is well driven and penetrated to the
maximum extent Yi has joined hands with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who will now play an
exhibition match with the Yi National Cricket Team.
• Yi has a remarkable 24.18% increase, reaching the heights growth in the past decade, with 8
new cities reaching to 6,223.
• Yi adopting 272 rural villages, having accomplished a total of 262 activities with a direct impact
of 2.5 lac lives and more

• Yi has collaborated with 220 schools with over 2.2 Lac students across the nation
• Yi’s student network Yuva stands as 262 institutes and 169349 students during the year
• Collaboration with Ministry of Youth Affairs, Govt of India for 50 sessions of Y20 sessions & Mera
Yuva Bharat workshop
• Impacted 1.5 lac individuals on Responsible road behavior awareness
• Over 1000 activities were conducted in the last 10 months, impacting the lives of about 1.8 lakh
stakeholders under Masoom Initiative.
• About 1.7 lakh school students were sensitized on safe and unsafe touch
• Showcasing 8 outstanding Indian innovations at G20 YEA Summit
• 600 Entrepreneurs & Policy Makers from 29 Countries at G20 YEA India Summit

About Young Indians (Yi):
Young Indians (Yi) is an integral youth wing of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) formed in the
Year 2002, an organization of 6200 + diversified young entrepreneurs and professionals from across 66
cities of India between the age of 21-45 years, who have come together with the desire to collaborate,

Yi has conceived Project MASOOM to keep children safe and it was nationally launched by Kailash
Satyarthi, Recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize & Founder, Bachpan Bachao Andolan at Yi annual summit
“Takepride” on 12th March 2015. Masoom is one of the key projects of Yi, where we work on various
initiatives towards creating awareness on Child Safety and Protection and eliminating child sexual abuse
through awareness sessions, campaigns, events and social media across the country.
Project Masoom works in partnership with the Childline India Foundation, UNICEF India, Arpan,
WeProtect Global Alliance many other noted Organisations to spread awareness about Child Safety.
Yi holds the Guinness Book of World records on “Largest child safeguarding lesson in a single day.
