Asom Khobor celebrates its 6th year of inception

Asom Khobor, a digital media house of Assam observed its 6th year of inception on Sunday at the office of the Sonitpur District Journalists’ Union, Tezpur with pomp and grandeur. The day-long programme began with illumination of earthen lamps in front of the portrait of eminent journalist late Pranab Singh by Dr Hara Mohan Kalita, former principal of Jagiroad HSS. Pulak Kumar Deka, senior journalist of Tezpur conducted the proceedings of the smriticharan programme.
After it, an open session was held with Dr Hara Mohan Kalita in the chair where Ashwini Kumar Gogoi, the chief editor of Asom Khobor traced the history of the digital media in the field of journalism of the state and introduced the correspondents and accorded felicitation to them.
A total of five persons including four eminent personalities who have contributed for all round development of the state along with one active scribe of Asom Khobor were awarded on the grand occasion.
Eminent social worker of Behali Dipali Barua was accorded with Samaj Hitoishi 2023 title,
Distinguished physician of Biswanath Dr Ranjan Gogoi was conferred with Samaj Sevak 2023 title, prolific social worker of Sivasagar and engineer in ONGC Roma Gogoi was awarded with Jana Seva 2023 title while Sivasagar reporter of Asom Khobor Porag Bora was conferred with asom Khobor Active Journalist of the year at the same time, Pranab Kumar Das, senior journalist who serves for national media was awarded with the Best Journalist title by the media house. The awardees were felicitated with citation, memento, gamosa and cheleng chador. The award giving ceremony was also addressed by Arup Kalita, Tushar Bora among others. The digital media house also felicitated Srimanta Das, secretary of Behali Press Club, and Pankaj Bezbarua of Nalbari in the meeting.
